Here was our New Zealand road trip route:

25 days, nearly 2,000 km (~1,240 miles), 28 hours in our trusty Perry (yes, we named our car Perry):


Here is the breakdown: 

April 1st - Land in Auckland from Malaysia

April 1st - April 4th: Auckland

April 4th - April 11th: Havelock North

April 11th - April 14th: Wellington

April 14th - April 15th: Kaikoura

April 15th - April 21st: Lyttelton

April 21st - April 22nd: Fox Glacier

April 22nd - April 25th: Queenstown

April 25th: Fly from Queenstown to Melbourne, Australia

Kon'nichiwa from Tokyo! Tokyo was our first stop on our round-the-world adventure! Just over a year ago, I found a "mistake" fare from Los Angeles to Tokyo for $100.00 per person. Scuba Diving in Phuket, Thailand

One of our big goals when we started on this trip was to get certified to scuba dive, especially because we had some amazing South-East Asian countries on our itinerary. We weren't exactly sure which destination we would complete our training in, but when we hit our first scuba-worthy destination, Phuket, Thailand, we were eager to get started.
