New Zealand: Auckland

Oh, New Zealand... You may very well be our favorite place on earth. We have many adventures in front of us, so we are not going to rule out the possibility of liking some other place more, but you are going to be really hard to beat!

We started our trip in Auckland, which is New Zealand's most populated city. We were told and read in many blogs to spend as little time in Auckland as possible, as it is just like any other city. We have to disagree, and we are really glad that we spent 3 nights in Auckland on our month-long, 2,000 km journey through New Zealand! Here is a glimpse into our time in Auckland:

Kon'nichiwa from Tokyo! Tokyo was our first stop on our round-the-world adventure! Just over a year ago, I found a "mistake" fare from Los Angeles to Tokyo for $100.00 per person. Scuba Diving in Phuket, Thailand

One of our big goals when we started on this trip was to get certified to scuba dive, especially because we had some amazing South-East Asian countries on our itinerary. We weren't exactly sure which destination we would complete our training in, but when we hit our first scuba-worthy destination, Phuket, Thailand, we were eager to get started.
